Madam Phoon started her own professional practice in 1984 after she completed her articleship with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. (now KPMG) and she stayed on with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. to gain wider experience in Audit and Tax work to include interntional cross countries taxation advisory exposure. During the 10 years attachment with KPMG Penang and Kuala Lumpur offices, she was involved in big range of industries covering finance, manufacturing, plantation, trading, property investment and development industries.

During the past 3 decades, she built a strong business relationship with many family businesses, small & medium enterprises (SME) to provide a convenient one stop financial and statutory compliance service centers. She spent most of the time in taxation consultancy and corporate advisory work helping clients to minimize their tax liabilities and maximize their corporate efficiency.

Madam Phoon is a member of Malaysian Institute of Accounts (MIA), The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM). She used to be active in many Accountancy Professional bodies (MIA, MICPA and CTIM) participating as co-op members in their tax affairs committees.
